The starting point is at Chassagne beach where you can enjoy numerous outdoor activities. In the village of Le Repaire, take the time to admire the private (not open to the public) 18th-century castle, the 19th-century chapel, and a dovecote.
Charente Riverbanks Circuit - 11.5km loop - 2h39 (easy)
The unique feature of this trail is the commune of Saint-Gervais, which was annexed to Videix in 1829. Sights to see: the church rebuilt in 1458, the wash house, the fountain, built in breccia with a curb and renowned for treating nosebleeds.
Montoume Meteorite Trail - 9.3km loop - 2h20 (easy)
A pleasant hike starting from Chéronnac along the Tardoire river (don't miss the two plane trees over 250 years old, one of which is a listed building). Then discover the village of Montoume, which was inhabited as early as the Neolithic period.
Bike route from Videix to Rochechouart - 38.4km loop - 4h30 (difficult)
Starting from Videix, head towards Rochechouart. Pass through Saint-Gervais and admire the buildings constructed from impactite stone, a rock formed from the fusion of a meteorite (which crashed over 200 million years ago) and local minerals. In the hamlet of Pers, you'll find a stork well. Upon arriving in Rochechouart, cross the Graine River via the small Roman bridge at Roc du Bœuf. This route traverses part of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park. Continue towards Chéronnac, where the Charente River originates! Follow its course back to the Videix lake.
Peyrassoulat site in Chéronnac
Hidden treasures lie on the banks of the Tardoire, in the locality of Peyrassoulat. The Peyrassoulat site is classified as a Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest, thanks to three hybrid Western plane trees, one Oriental plane tree, and four yew trees over 500 years old whose branches form a remarkable canopy. One of the plane trees is a listed specimen, with a spread of 40 m and a circumference of 6 m.
