Located on the Charente River, this area attracts locals and tourists alike thanks to its amenities: beach, children's playground, picnic area, restaurant, pedal boats in the summer… Come and explore Videix along the two hiking trails: you'll appreciate its tranquility, its natural surroundings, and the unique features of its built heritage.

Between meadows, woods and lake, enjoy an environment conducive to outdoor activities: walks, hikes, cycle route, paddle, pedal boats, canoeing or horse riding, around Lake La Treize (Lakes of Haute-Charente).Swimming at the beach is supervised from July 9th to August 25th.

What is there to do in the surrounding area?

Explore Rochechouart , between medieval heritage and contemporary art, then continue towards Saint-Junien and its leather craftsmanship, or Chassenon and its Gallo-Roman baths.

Bike route from Videix to Rochechouart - 38.4km loop - 4h30 (difficult)

Starting from Videix, drive towards Rochechouart. Pass through Saint-Gervais and admire the buildings constructed from impactite stone, a rock formed from the fusion of a meteorite (which crashed over 200 million years ago) and local minerals. In the hamlet of Pers, you'll find a stork well. Upon arriving in Rochechouart, you'll cross the Graine River via the small Roman bridge at Roc du Bœuf. This route traverses part of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park. Then drive towards Chéronnac, where the source of the Charente is located! Follow its course back to the Videix lake.

The starting point is at Chassagne beach where you can enjoy numerous outdoor activities. In the village of Le Repaire, take the time to admire the private (not open to the public) 18th-century castle, the 19th-century chapel, and a dovecote.

Peyrassoulat site in Chéronnac

Hidden treasures lie on the banks of the Tardoire, in the locality of Peyrassoulat. The Peyrassoulat site is classified as a Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest, thanks to three hybrid Western plane trees, one Oriental plane tree, and four yew trees over 500 years old whose branches form a remarkable canopy. One of the plane trees is a listed specimen, with a spread of 40 m and a circumference of 6 m.
